AN IB WORLD SCHOOL

Facilities

State-of-the-art facilities in a stunning natural setting

Saint George’s athletes can thank the 50th Anniversary Campaign for the largest facility on campus – the Errol Schmidt Athletic Center. Named for long-time math teacher and coach Errol Schmidt, the 29,000 square-foot facility was built with $6 million raised from alumni and friends of the school. The Schmidt Center’s 113 x 120-foot gym court is one of the largest main gyms of any Spokane high school. The building holds two collegiate-length basketball courts side-by-side and seats over 800 for basketball or volleyball games. New fitness and training rooms keep student athletes in shape, and four locker rooms enable the school to host tournaments for the first time.

The school also has two smaller gyms for practice sessions, tennis courts, a soccer field and a baseball diamond along the banks of the Little Spokane River. Cross country and track runners train on the trails that wind through the state park land surrounding the campus. And cross country competitions at Saint George’s always end with an exciting dash down the sand hill behind the Schmidt Center.

Whether in PE classes, Outdoor Club activities, or athletic teams, Saint George’s students enjoy the finest facilities and one of the most beautiful campuses in the Inland Northwest.

The Errol Schmidt Athletic Center is the premier high school athletic facility in the Greater Spokane Area. Our Athletic Center is a tribute to the community support we get year in and year out.
