The Washington State Soccer Coaches Association has honored three SGS players with All-State recognition.  Lydia Bergquist, Maddie Christiansen, and Cambrie Rickard were all named to the 2B/1B First Team for girls soccer.  Cambrie was additionally named State MVP for small school girls soccer.  More well-earned honors for the 2018 State 2B Champions.  Go Dragons!

The sixth grade spent a sunny January day snowshoeing along the trails on Mt. Spokane.  See a Photo Gallery of them out in the woods enjoying the fresh air.

The 2019 "Battle for the Holy Grail" spirit competition featured the 1960s (SGS "Hippies") vs the 1980s (NWC "Back to the Future") competition at Northwest Christian on Friday, January 18.  Thanks to everyone who prepared signs, dances and cheers, and to all the students, staff and parents who brought their enthusiasm to the event.  On the court, the SGS girls team fell to NWC 60-45, while the Dragon boys won their contest 54-43 on the strength of an 18-3 third quarter rally.  The Crusaders retained the Holy Grail, but both schools showed great spirit, including gathering clothing and donations for Teen & Kid Closet to help local foster children.

Former Dragon basketball players and friends returned to the Schmidt Center Gym for a fierce but friendly game of basketball on Dec. 23.  Thanks to Bob Jones '82 for this Photo Gallery of their game.

The Annual "Battle for the Holy Grail" spirit competition between SGS and Northwest Christian is this Friday, January 18 at NWC.  The theme is The 1960s, and $5 spirit packs (groovy glasses, bandanas, peace signs) are available to purchase at lunch on Thursday, Jan. 17 from Mark Rickard.  Students who have ordered tie-dyed T-shirts will get them Thursday afternoon or Friday morning to wear that day.  Plus, please send in new or gently used childrens/teens clothing for the Teen & Kid Closet charity that both schools will be supporting this week, or bring clothes to the game.  Representatives of Teen & Kid Closet will collect donations and serve as judges of the spirit competition.

On Friday, there will be a K-12 Pep Rally in ESAC to preview our dance, then students can stay after school to work on decorations and face painting.  A free bus for students in grades 6-12 will leave SGS to go to NWC at 4:30pm -- parents must sign the waiver on PowerSchool and identify whether their student will be riding the bus back to SGS after the competition or will be picked up at NWC.  Cost for students to attend the games is $4 (adults are $6), and food is available at the concessions stand.

Holy Grail basketball games begin at 3:00pm with the girls JV game, followed by boys JV at 4:30pm, girls varsity at 6:00pm, and boys varsity at 7:30pm.  Spirit competitions will run before and at halftime of the varsity games, culminating with the awarding of the Holy Grail at about 9:00pm.  It's time for Dragons to win back the Grail, so come support Saint George's this Friday, Jan. 18!

The Little Dragon Cheerleaders were a big part of the Lower School Basketball Night on Jan. 12 in the ESAC Gym.  After a chili feed and time to decorate signs, they practiced their dance number and then performed during both the girls and boys varsity basketball games.  See a Photo Gallery of their busy evening!
