In the semi-final game vs Liberty, the Dragons had to come from behind to force overtime and pull out a 64-60 victory (see S-R Article, Photo Gallery and Video of the end of regulation and overtime). In the State Championship Game, Saint George's stayed close to the defending champion Kittitas Coyotes, trailing by just 3 at halftime. But cold shooting in the second half put the Dragons in a hole they couldn't climb out of, losing 65-50. It was their only loss of the season, earning the 2nd place State trophy (see S-R Article, Photo Gallery, Video of Introductions and Video Highlights). "We played well enough to win, we defended well enough to be there in the end," SGS coach Ryan Peplinski said to a Spokesman-Review reporter afterwards. "I don't think we left a lot out there. This was a special group." Congratulations on a great season, Dragons!
