Senior SGS basketball players Shayden Brown and Nick Watkins signed letters of intent to play for college teams in a ceremony on April 28, 2021.  Shayden will play for nearby Whitworth University, while Nick will play for Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego.  See a Photo Gallery from the signing ceremony.  Congratulations to both student-athletes and their families -- Go Dragons!

 

The Saint George's track and field team competed at a meet at Chewelah on April 27.  Here is a Photo Gallery of great shots provided by parent Lisa Baird.

Saint George's Middle School track and field athletes were running and jumping at a meet in Ritzville on April 26.  See a Photo Gallery of them in action provided by 8th grader Simon Feist.

The SGS Golf team competed in matches at Clarkston’s Quail Ridge Golf Course on April 13, at the Chewelah Golf Course on April 19, and at Dominion Meadows Golf Course at Colville on April 27.  "Our season has been quick, but I have seen a crazy amount of improvement in my players," says coach Brad Kirsch, noting that only one of his 10 players had significant experience in the game.  "Everyone has had a chance to get out and learn how to play 18 holes of golf, and everyone has had their moments of greatness."  See a Photo Gallery of SGS golfers at all three matches.

Kudos to junior Patrick McCarthy, who finished 2nd in all three matches, including a 1 over par 73 at Colville.  Patrick will be joined by six other Dragons at Districts on May 3rd at Deer Park.  Luke Whitman, Kade Kaiser, Nick Henning and Nate Henning will make up the boys’ team at Districts, while Carol Wolff and Kaylee Clark qualified for the girls’ tournament.  "I am so pumped that we have seven golfers continuing on and have been so impressed with the growth of all 10 this season," says Brad.

The 1st graders had lots of energy on a sunny spring day.  So PE teacher Jen Ward took them outside to do some exercises and play some games as pairs.  See a Short Video and a Photo Gallery of them burning off their energy!

Golf, Tennis, and Track & Field all have their first competitions of the season on Tuesday, April 13.  The golfers will be gone for the day to play league opponents in Clarkston, while tennis and track athletes will be in Chewelah for after school meets.  See the Full Schedule for April 12-17 and check the SGS Dragon Athletics website for any updated times and locations.  Go Dragons!

The Dragons outscored Davenport 3-1 to capture the District Championship on Saturday, March 27.  See a Photo Gallery of the action!  Playing on their home field, the Dragons finished their shortened season with a 9-2 overall record, and Cambrie Rickard added one more goal for a career total of 102 goals.
