Younger students in the Around the World summer camp learned about the languages, foods and cultures of five countries.  See photo galleries from their days focused on China and on India.  They also explored the Ukraine, Peru and Egypt.

Lower School students designed and built robots with Legos that could move using computer programming.  See a Photo Gallery of them hard at work during this week-long summer camp.

Students assembled their own 3D printers and then used them to create a variety of objects during this week-long summer camp.  See a Photo Gallery of them printing out all kinds of objects!

Middle School students and 5th graders gave TED Talk-style presentations on their Genius Hour projects to interested listeners on May 31, 2019.  Then they explained their projects in a poster gallery and in outside demonstrations.  See photo galleries of their Genius Hour Talks and their Posters & Presentations from this extravaganza of creativity!

Upper School May Term classes presented their work in a series of exhibitions around campus on June 4.  Here is a Photo Gallery with images from the Adulting 101 class, Latin class, Culture/Crafts/Cuisine class, Science and Art class, the class that canoed the Winchester Wasteway, and the Habitat class.

The annual overnight trip for 6th graders took them to the Nez Perce Reservation in Central Idaho to compete their studies on rivers and dams, fish hatcheries, and religious traditions.  See a Photo Gallery of their explorations on May 28-29, 2019.

The 2nd graders researched and presented famous Americans in their own "wax museum" on May 24, 2019.  See a Photo Gallery of them in character in the Dragons Den.

Students in grades 5 through 8 will present their projects at the Genius Hour Extravaganza on Friday, May 31 in the Middle School Courtyard from 8:30-11:00am.  Parents and classes are invited to attend this capstone event.  From 8:30-10am, students will be presenting their Genius Hour projects in Ted Talk style.  For a different format from 10:10-11am, students will stand by their Genius Hour posters to describe their project and answer questions.  Come see what our Dragon geniuses have come up with!

Saint George's Robotics team #1595 demonstrated their latest robot at FIRST Washington's Change the World Fundraiser on Wednesday, May 15.  The evening included student demonstrations from several teams of different ages.  Then Dr. Charlotte Lamp, a former SGS parent and the mother of Spokane astronaut Anne McClain, talked about Anne's dream of becoming an astronaut at a very young age and the path she followed to make that dream come true.  Read more about the FIRST Event at Spokane STEM News.
