8th & 9th grade students presented talks in Spanish about holidays in Spanish-speaking countries to the 5th graders on Dec. 13.  See a Photo Gallery of the Spanish students from different grades getting good practice in speaking and listening!

The 4th graders gathered leaves from the stream through campus and then examined the macroinvertibrates that they found under the Biology Lab's microscopes on Dec. 12.  See a Photo Gallery of their discoveries!

All Saint George's School students will have a half day on Wednesday, December 19, with the annual Holiday Feast in the Upper School courtyard at 11am for grades 6-12.  Busses leave at 12:20pm, and there is not After School Care that afternoon. 

Classes resume on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019 for all grades.  Enjoy the holidays and best wishes for the start of 2019!

Saint George’s FIRST Lego League Robotics team #40706 competed at the Eastern Washington Regional Competition held at Salk Middle School on Sunday, Dec. 9.  Their self-running Lego robots attempted several "missions" in the space-themed competition.  "As a rookie team, the Golden Dragons displayed gracious professionalism as they navigated through their first competition," says coach Michelle Bledsoe.  "Their perseverance and their willingness to learn demonstrated true Dragon Spirit."  Congratulations to 6th grader Brady Nosbaum and to 5th graders Matthew Longstreth, Sophia Naccarato, and Per Sande for a job well done!

 

The 2nd graders wore handmade owl masks and sang owl songs at Lower School Assembly on Nov. 30.  They were a hoot!  See a YouTube Video of them singing and a Photo Gallery of their performances.

The 5th graders updated the Story Trail with a scientific book, "The Story of Snow", for the month of November.  See a Photo Gallery of them updating the pages along the trail that begins by the school gates and winds along the hillside above campus to the Davenport House.

All kinds of discoveries and experiements were on display at the Lower School Science Day on Nov. 20.  See photo galleries of presentations by the 3rd Graders, the 4th Graders, and the 5th Graders on the last day before Thanksgiving break.

During Lower School Science Day on Nov. 20, students got to study (and hold!) giant hissing cockroaches from Madagascar.  See a Photo Gallery of these creepy crawlers and the students who examined and learned about them.  Thanks to Fred Stahl for sharing his creatures with us!

Thanksgiving Break Nov. 21-23

Saint George's will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 21 through Friday, Nov. 23 for Thanksgiving break.  Enjoy the time with family and friends as you remember all that you have to be thankful for!

Lower School Science Day will feature science displays by the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders and a close-up look at some magnificent Madagascar cockroaches on Tuesday, Nov. 20.  Science displays will be up from 8:40 to 10:25am, followed by activities designed to get students interested in science.  See the Science Day Schedule and come learn from these budding scientists!
