SGS 9th, 10th, and 11th graders are invited to Shadle Library on Wednesday, March 27 at 4:30pm for a presentation by Grace Chapin James on "How to Get Into the College of Your Dreams." The former Spokane Scholar and current Deputy Director of Admissions at the University of Chicago, Ms. Chapin James shares her experiences and insights on how to prepare for success in college admissions. She is a graduate of Ferris High School and attended the University of Chicago, Harvard Graduate School of Education, and will begin her doctoral studies at NYU this summer. She also serves on selective scholarship boards in the Midwest. Students are encouraged to ask questions and take advantage of this opportunity to learn from someone who has direct knowledge of the college admissions process.
Russell Werkman will be leading a trip to visit a variety of colleges and universities in the Boston area during Spring Break. Sign ups for interested students are due Friday, Feb. 15 to Russell. Contact Russell or look for an email from him for more details.
On Tuesday, Nov. 6, the freshman class will leave SGS at 8:30am by bus to the downtown Cenvention Center for the PNACAC College Fair, followed by a visit/tour at Gonzaga University. Lunch will be provided; online waivers are due by 3:00pm on Friday, November 2.

Saint George's now offers the Cambridge Assessment Admission tests for students interested in applying to universities in the United Kingdom (Cambridge, Oxford, Warwick). Student should apply to Kerry Clark by Monday, Oct. 15; the testing time is on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at SGS.

Parents of seniors, please save the date of Wednesday, Oct. 3 for a special College Night presentation at 6:00pm in the Dragon Room. Learn all about the college admission process, news from the NACAC conference, and the SGS college counseling services designed to help your senior find and gain admission to the right college or university for them. Parents of 11th graders also are welcome to attend.
SGS students and parents are invited to attend the Exploring College Options event on Monday, Oct. 1 from 7-9pm at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Spokane City Center (322 N Spokane Falls Ct.). Representatives of Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Pennsylvania, and Stanford universities will provide information on the college admissions process. They suggest arriving 15 to 20 minutes beforehand to complete the sign-in process and find a seat. See the Registration Website or talk to Kerry Clark for more information.
