Dressed up in leather jackets or poodle skirts, the 7th and 8th graders performed the musical "The Nifty Fifties" in Founders Theater on Nov. 6.  See a Photo Gallery of the show and Watch Them Sing about the scary movie "The Blob" at their local theater.

The Intro to Art students created these pen and ink drawings of wildlife -- some individual profiles and others combination images.  See a Photo Gallery and look for them on the wall above the Upper School Art Room entrance.

Congratulations to Lower School artists Mies Shimizu (1st grade) and Bella Buckner (5th grade), whose drawings were among 32 finalists for the 2020 Spokane Recycles calendar.  From these finalists, the work of 17 students will be chosen for the calendar.  Student finalists will be recognized at the November 12 meeting of the Board of County Commissioners.  Every finalist will receive a certificate from the commissioners, and a short reception will be held after the meeting where the winners for the calendar will be announced.  All of the finalists’ posters are currently on display at River Park Square on the second level through Tuesday, Nov. 12.  Check them out!

The 3rd graders and their Upper School Spanish student friends spent time on Halloween carving pumpkins together.  Then they worked on "Pumpkin Math" problems before taking their creations to line the path to the Lower School.  See photo galleries of them Carving Pumpkins and Posing With Their Pumpkins.

The full 6th grade class has created drawings to send to students in Pakistan, who will send their own artwork in return.  See a Photo Gallery of the students (in their Halloween costumes) and their drawings, which will soon be headed off to South Asia.

The 2nd graders sang and acted out several of Aesop's Fables for family and friends on Oct. 17.  See photo galleries of Their Performance, their Drawings of Favorite Fables, and a video of The Dog Song from their show.

The 7th and 8th grade art students created drawings inspired by photos from space.  This Photo Gallery shows drawings on display on the Middle School walls by the Dragon Room.

The afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 16 was Community Day for the Middle and Upper School students.  See a photo gallery of their Arts & Games Activities, including face painting, painting kindness rocks, drawing, and playing games.

Last spring's May Term Dance Class performed a Banghra-style dance at the Spokane India Community Diwali Dhamaka celebration on Oct. 13.  "It was a fantastic experience yesterday in Post Falls," says Mark Rickard, who led the May Term class and credits SGS parent Sakshi Amin for the choreography.  See a video of the May Term Dance Performance from last spring.
