Friday, March 9 features the International Baccalaureate Art students' exhibit around the Upper School from 5:30-6:30pm.  See samples of their Artwork.  Then from 6:30-7:30, Middle School students will hold an Improv Comedy Night in the Dragon Room.  Come enjoy a free evening of artistic expression and audience participation!

SGS 9th grader Reagan Ivey was named the #1 high school soloist at the University of Idaho's prestigious Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival on Friday, Feb. 23.  Reagan performed "The Frim-Fram Sauce" in the concert for award winners that evening; see a YouTube Video or Facebook Video of her song.  Congratulations to Reagan and all the SGS singers who performed...

The 7th graders spent time shading and drawing sketches in their art class on Feb. 22.  See a Photo Gallery of them learning to draw images from black and white photographs...

The 6th graders were molding and painting ceramic fish, as well as another creative piece of their choice, in their art class on Feb. 22.  See a Photo Gallery of their colorful creations...

The Music department will host a second Coffee House of musical performances on Tuesday, February 20, at 6:30pm in the Dragon Room.  This session will feature the Upper School choir, the chamber choir, and soloist -- all preparing for the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival.  Plus enjoy the instrumental group "unplugged".  "We always welcome any outside performances, skits, poetry, etc." says David Demand.  Contact David if you want to get on the program.

The 8th graders have created art in the style of Australian Aboriginal dot paintings.  See a Photo Gallery of their animals of the Outback...

Congratulations to the 14 SGS singers who performed in All-State Choirs this weekend in Yakima.  The singers, who were each selected based on auditions, include:

Hailey Poutiatine, Caroline He, and Reagan Ivey in the All-State High School Treble Choir; Jaxon Spackman in the All-State High School Symphonic Choir; Max Rickard and Ethan Wu in the Junior All-State 7-8th Grade Choir; John Nowland and Yasmine Tehrani in the Junior All-State Treble Choir; and Noah Buchman, Lily Nosbaum, Kiya Kangas, Steel Lindauer, Henri Osborne, and Katherine Gunn in the Youth All-State 5-6th Grade Choir.  Congratulations, Singing Dragons! 

Upper School students played Chinese music and sang songs at the Lower School Assembly on Feb. 9 to celebrate the coming of the Chinese New Year.  The Year of the Dog begins on Feb. 16.  See a Video Medley of the different performances and get a preview of what they will present at the Upper School's Chinese New Year celebration at lunch on Thursday, Feb. 15...
