More than 100 students - over half the Upper School - walked outside Saint George's School on Wednesday, March 14 and stood silent in the cold rain for 17 minutes to honor the victims of the Parkland, Florida high school shooting one month ago.  Photos of the victims were displayed, and 11th grader Kyrie Woodard, who organized the student walkout, called for an end to gun violence in schools.  "We deserve to come to school and feel safe," she said.  See a Photo Gallery of the solemn assembly...

SGS senior Ceci Bergquist delivered new TVs and DVDs to the Ronald McDonald House yesterday, thanks to $2500 raised at Saint George's Holy Grail spirit competition. Ceci, who serves on the RMH teen board, was highlighted on KXLY TV and on KREM TV last week.  Good job, Ceci!

SGS Blood Drive a Success

The March 7th blood drive at SGS collected 21 "products" from 18 procedures -- the most donated in two years!  Thanks to each person who donated.  You are helping to save lives in the Inland Northwest...

A local refugee will speak in the Dragon Room at 6:00pm on Sunday, March 18 about his inspiring experiences.  Côme Nzibarega will share his first-hand account of life in the refugee camps after escaping a civil war in his home country of Burundi, revealing the human and often heroic stories behind the nameless faces we see in the news.  Côme is coming to Saint George’s to talk about how words can inspire or destroy. The next SGS Blood Drive is Wednesday, March 7 from 7:30 to 11:00am in the Upper School Courtyard.  Parents and students age 16 and over are welcome to donate.  Sign Up Online or at the bulletin board by the Upper School computer lab. Friday, March 2 is a teacher in-service day and the end of the 3rd Quarter for MS and US.  No classes for 6-12 that day.
