Saint George's "Scare Away Hunger" food drive for Second Harvest runs until Tuesday, November 7.  The grade that brings in the most pounds of food per person in that class will win the heavyweight belt.  There are also competitions within the divisions and fun prizes.  Please bring in canned or non-perishable food and "scare away hunger" in Spokane...

School is closed K-12 on Veterans' Day, Nov. 10.  The Lower School has a Veterans' Hall of Honor that reflects the brave men and women who have protected our freedoms.  It's not too late to send in a picture or electronic photo of a veteran in your family.  Thank you to all who have served!

With her home and school damaged in Hurricane Maria, Sofia Roman Ocasio has relocated from Puerto Rico to Spokane to live with her aunt and uncle and continue her schooling.  The 14-year-old student is attending Saint George’s for the 2017-18 school year as likely the only “educational refugee” from Hurricane Maria to land in Spokane.  Read the story from the October 28th Spokesman-Review about her experience of the storm and her reception in Spokane.   Plus, see a Short Video of her saving a goal in the Oct. 27 girls' soccer win over Davenport...

More than 600 people heard 15 speakers share ideas about "The Future of the Future" at the annual TEDxSpokane event on Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Bing Theater in downtown Spokane.  From drones to self-driving cars and from acrobatics to Alzheimers, the speakers covered a variety of topics that will affect our lives and our world in the near future.  See the TEDxSpokane Program for more information about the speakers.  And a Photo Gallery of shots from the event is on the SGS website...
