AN IB WORLD SCHOOL

Middle School News

Saint George's 8th grade Math Counts team earned 13th place at the State Competition, held at the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, WA on Saturday, March 10.  The team of Stella Brown, Kara Chiang, Tariq Ravasia, and Ethan Wu were the top scoring school from all of Eastern Washington.  The competition featured the top 25 teams and about 140 math students from across the state.  In individual awards, Kara was 36th overall and Tariq was 43rd overall.  "These are solid scores considering the state of Washington usually is one of the stronger states in the country when competing at the national level," says their coach Shane Kangas.  Congratulations Dragons!

The MS Academic Fair on March 13 was overflowing with interesting experiments and projects.  The 8th graders filled the Dragon Room with their science and history projects, while the 6th and 7th graders displayed and explained their science experiments in the MS Courtyard.  See photo galleries of the 6th-7th Grade Projects and the 8th Grade Projects.  You could learn a lot from a Middle Schooler!
