AN IB WORLD SCHOOL

Dragon Sports Begin February 10

February 08, 2021

The first day of sports has been moved to Wednesday, February 10 to allow all schools to get the necessary number of practices in before we play a contest.  Most NE 2B League schools are in a four-school-day model and will likely not bring their teams in when they are not in-person learning.  However, we are anticipating moving to Phase 2 next Monday, Feb. 15.  Decision dates to determine if the current plan can begin or if the league must make changes will be addressed weekly by league athletic directors.

If our East Region is in Phase I, then:
o Cross Country can compete without spectators.
o Soccer and Volleyball are not allowed to compete.
o Soccer can conduct practices outside.
o Volleyball can conduct modified practices inside (pods of 6).
If our East Region is in Phase II, then:
o Cross Country can compete with limited spectators.
o Soccer and Volleyball can compete with limited spectators.

League Superintendents and Regional Health Districts are looking into how to include spectators safely at events with preference to parents.  We will have more information on spectators soon.

Note: 8th graders can participate in Boys & Girls Soccer and Volleyball.  Middle School Cross Country is scheduled to begin on February 22.
