Dragon Soccer Teams Advance to State Quarterfinals

November 06, 2017

Both Dragon’s varsity soccer teams worked hard to advance to the State Quarterfinals after heart-pounding overtime matches on a chilly Friday, November 3rd.  The boys' team travelled to Trout Lake in the shadow of Mt. Adams for the District 7/9 2B title match.  Cade Peplinski and Mitchell Ward scored goals in regulation, followed by Mitchell's final score in overtime for the boys' 3-2 victory.

The girls’ team, playing at home against rivals Northwest Christian, fought their way back from a 1-3 deficit to tie the game 3-3 at the end of regulation.  Lydia Bergquist had two goals and Cambrie Rickard added one in regulation and the winning goal with 12 seconds left in the second overtime period for the 4-3 victory.  They are the NE District champs and take the league's only berth to the State 2B/1B championship -- see a Photo Gallery from their win over Northwest Christian.

The boys play in the State Quarterfinal round in Spokane against Life Christian School at Noon, Friday, November 10 at Gonzaga Prep's field.  The girls will be facing Liberty Bell HS on Nov. 10 or 11 at Gonzaga Prep.  Go Dragons!
