Track Team Shows Speed at Liberty Meet

The SGS girls raced to wins in the 100 meter, 400 meter, and 3200 meter races at the league track and field meet at Liberty HS on April 23.  Plus they added top finishes in the 800 and 1,600 meter relays to finish 2nd overall in team points of the 13 schools competing.  Kudos to Fair Niven (1st in 100m, 2nd in 400m), Reagan Ivey (1st in 400m), and Jora Gleason (1st in 3200m, 3rd in 400m).  Taylor Sande and Grace Harrill joined Ivey and Niven in the 800 relay, while Audrey Harrill and Maggie McLaughlin joined Gleason and Ivey to take the 1,600 relay title.  See a Photo Gallery of the girls' races and events.

The SGS boys had the fastest runner at the meet, as Marcus Manson raced to the 100 meter title in 11.91 seconds.  Dan Rigsby took 2nd in the 400 meter race, as did the team of Chaitanya Nalluri, Oscar Angell, Manson and Rigsby in the 1,600 meter relay.  The boys team were 7th overall at the meet.  See a Photo Gallery of the boys' races and events
