The SGS Outdoor Club will travel to Smith Rocks in Eastern Oregon for Spring Break 2022 for some serious rock climbing. The Outdoor Club's Summer 2022 trip is planned to go backpacking and flyfishing in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness just northeast of Yellowstone National Park from August 9-16. The 5th graders posted a new book on the Story Trail for November -- "Tacky the Penguin". See a Photo Gallery of them putting the front pages on one of the posts, as well as a photo of the full class. Then be sure to walk the Story Trail and enjoy a book to read in the middle of nature!

The 6th graders rode their bikes along the Centennial Trail in the Spokane Valley, stopping to test the water quality of the Spokane River and enjoy lunch together outside. See a Photo Gallery of their activities on a beautiful fall day.
The 7th grade's "Water Warriors" theme day on Oct. 7 included a talk with Jerry White (the Spokane Riverkeeper and former SGS Middle School teacher), cleaning up garbage around Kendall Yards, and hiking along the Spokane River to the Bowl and Pitcher in Riverside State Park. The 7th grade class spent several days at Camp Spalding on Davis Lake in late September. Here are photo galleries of them exploring one of four different activities together: Paddling Kayaks out onto the lake, learning to Fly Fish on the lake, Rock Climbing above the camp, and working through Teambuilding Exercises in the woods above the camp. Plus a gallery of them during their time at Camp Spalding engaging in other Group & Individual Activities.
