Christiansen Named WIAA Athlete of the Week

SGS sophomore Maddy Christiansen earned WIAA Athlete of the Week for all 2B schools in the state for her two outstanding performances at Quail Ridge and Deer Park Golf Courses on April 20 and 24.  She finished 2nd in both tournaments, shooting a career low round of 86 at the Quail Ridge course followed by an 82 at Deer Park, breaking 40 for the first time in her career on the front nine.  Maddy beat the defending state champion and NE 2B players from as far away as Kettle Falls, Odessa and Asotin.  Plus, junior Taylor Mitchell finished 1st and 4th in the same two tournaments.  See a Photo Gallery of the boys' and girls' golf teams practicing before the Deer Park tournament.
