Boys 2nd, Girls 3rd at District 7 Tournament

Saint George's boys' varsity basketball team notched wins over Lind-Ritzville/Sprague (61-42) on Feb. 18, but fell to State #1 ranked Liberty 80-70 on Feb. 22 to earn 2nd place in the Distric 7 Tournament and an automatic berth to the State 2B Tournament.  The Dragons (19-4 overall) will play Onalaska at 2pm on Sat., Feb. 29 at Mt. Spokane HS.  (See the Boys' State 2B Brackets.)  A win means they play on Thursday, March 5 at State; a loss and they play again on Wednesday, March 4.

The girls' basketball team defeated Kettle Falls (49-34) on Feb. 18, and then eliminated Davenport 44-41 in overtime on Feb. 20 to qualify for the State 2B Tournament.  The Dragons (20-5 overall) then beat rival Northwest Christian by the same 44-41 score on Feb. 22 to earn 3rd place in the District 7 Tournament.  They will play Orcas Island at Noon on Sat., Feb. 29 at Mt. Spokane HS. (See the Girls' State 2B Brackets.)  A win and they play at the Arena on Wednesday, March 4; a loss and their season is done.  Go out to Mt. Spokane this Saturday to cheer on your Dragons!
