Dragons Named Finalists for Spokane Youth Sports Awards

Saint George's has an athlete, a coach and a team each named as finalists for the 2017 Spokane Youth Sports Awards.  Madison Ward (cross country and track) is one of four nominees for HS Sports Top Female Athlete, Heidi Melville (head coach of boys soccer) is one of three candidates for Coach of the Year, and the SGS boys' soccer team is one of three teams up for the 1B/2B/1A Top Male HS Sports Team.  In addition, former Dragon Daniel Roy was nominated for Top Male Athlete in a non-High School sport.  "Finalists represent the finest youth athletes in our region who also exemplify great character, sportsmanship and community service," according to the Spokane Sports Commission.  The 4th Annual Red Carpet Awards Show will be Monday, June 5 at 6pm in the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox.
