Ward Runs to 800 & 1,600 State Titles

Senior Madison Ward closed out her running career at Saint George's with a pair of individual State Championships.  She won the 1,600 meter race on Thursday, May 25 in 5:16.16, more than five seconds ahead of the next runner from Northwest Christian.  Then on Saturday, May 27, Madison finished the 800 meter race in a near state-record time of 2:20.25, the fourth time she has taken the State title in that distance.  "Seven individual state track titles, another in cross country, three relay wins and last year's team crown makes for a pretty good haul for Ward, who will run next year at Montana," reported the Spokesman-Review in its May 28 wrap up of the 2B State Championships.  Congratulations, Madison!
