Boys' Tennis Doubles Pair Places 7th in State

May 30, 2017

SGS boys' tennis pair Connor Cremers and Andrew Jauhiainen were 1-1 in matches at the 1B/2B/1A State Championships on May 26-27, earning the 7th place trophy.  Alex Poppel and Case Martin also competed at State, helping Saint George's boys place 10th overall.  Lauren Senske represented the Dragons on the girls' side, winning a match and helping the SGS girls finish tied for 13th in the State.  "The competition at tennis state is extremely tough, dominated by the West-Side teams.  There was even a player ranked in the top 75 in the nation competing," says coach Laura Cremers.  "Andrew and Connor had to play the best tennis of their lives to take 7th place--it was a tremendous effort."
