Boys Track & Field Team Takes 2nd at District Championships

The 2021 track and field season culminated with a 2nd place finish at the District 7 2B Championships at Ritzville on Thursday, May 13.  Several senior athletes posted some outstanding victories.  Led by Kyley Doughty's triple victories in the 100, 200, and 400 meters, the SGS boys finished a strong second to overall winner Davenport.  Chaitanya Nalluri took second in the 100 meters and raced to victory in the 300 hurdles.  Strong performances by Nico Morales in the javelin (2nd place at 139'7') and Nic McIndoe (4th place at 133') added points to the team score.  Kelsey Doughty placed in the high hurdles and was 6th in the high jump.   Then Nico Morales tripled jumped to a lifetime best 36'11" for 5th place.  

In the relay races, Kyley, Chaitanya, Jack Morris and James Gunn took 2nd in the 4x100, while Jack, James, Steph Pan and Max Rickard won the 4x400.  Great work, Dragons!  See all the results from Districts at https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/meet/428591/results.
