See the 8th Grade's Amazing Race

Each fall, MS Physical Education teacher Jim Tuck sets up an "Amazing Race" around campus for the 8th graders.  Each team has someone start the race with a map they use to find a lanyard, then they pass the lanyard off to a teammate who runs through the woods above campus, negotiates an obstacle course, and shoots arrows at a target.  Then the final pair on each team canoes down the Little Spokane River, lands by the soccer field, and races to the finish.  See a Photo Gallery of the race on October 4, the teams (winners give a thumbs up), and cleaning up the course and hauling back the canoes afterwards.
