Puerto Rican Student Lands at Saint George's

With her home and school damaged in Hurricane Maria, Sofia Roman Ocasio has relocated from Puerto Rico to Spokane to live with her aunt and uncle and continue her schooling.  The 14-year-old student is attending Saint George’s for the 2017-18 school year as likely the only “educational refugee” from Hurricane Maria to land in Spokane.  Read the story from the October 28th Spokesman-Review about her experience of the storm and her reception in Spokane.  Plus, see a Short Video of her saving a goal in the Oct. 27 girls' soccer win over Davenport.
