Boys Finish State 2B with 5th Place Trophy

The SGS boys’ team played a physical contest against undefeated Kittitas in the State 2B Tournament’s semi-finals on March 3 at the Spokane Arena.  The Dragons led most of the game, but fell behind at the end in a tough 67-59 loss.  To make matters worse, three key players were injured -- Erik Farias with a knee injury and Cade Peplinski and Dan Rigsby with concussions.  So when the Dragons faced Life Christian Academy in the State 2B Tournament's trophy round on March 4, they considered it a moral victory to hold the lead for most of the first half.  The final score was a 64-51 loss -- see the final Boys State 2B Bracket Results.  The boys finished their season 18-10, but they earned the 5th place trophy at State.  Go Dragons!
