Golfers Make Strides in April Tournaments

Saint George's golf team had a good tournament showing at Dominion Meadows in Colville on April 10.  Michael McCarthy shot a career best 3 over 75 and finished tied for 3rd in the tournament.  Maddy Christiansen shot 81 on the girls side to finish 2nd, and Taylor Mitchell shot 84 to finish 3rd.  "Weather was cold and wet but the team did a great job!" says coach Brad Kirsch.  

A week later on April 17 at Quail Ridge in Clarkston, the team faced tough, windy conditions.  Still, Maddy Christiansen tied for 1st and shot 88.  Taylor Mitchell got 3rd, shooting 94.  Alli Dixon competed in her first varsity tournament, and the girls’ team won the team title.  On the boys’ side, Jacob Whitman shot a career low 92.  Well done, Dragons!
