Girls Soccer Wins State 2B Championship

November 19, 2018

Saint George's girls soccer team finished their season in style on Nov. 17 with a 2-0 State 2B Championship victory over Kalama.  The win at Sunset Stadium in Sumner marked their second State 2B Title in the past three years!  A goal by Grace Harrill in the first half was matched by Lydia Bergquist's penalty kick score early in the second half, and the defense held Kalama scoreless for the win.  "I have already told them probably 10 times today how proud I am, this whole weekend actually," said head coach Logan Georgiadis in an article in the Spokesman-Review.  The Dragons finished 11-6-2 and will only graduate two seniors this year -- Abby Jones and Maddy Christiansen.

The Dragons earned a shot at the State Title with a dominating 4-1 win over previously undefeated Liberty Bell in the State Semifinals on Nov. 16.  See photo galleries of the Upper School cheering the team as they Left for State, of the State Championship Game, and the Victory Celebration afterwards.  Congratulations to the State Champions!
