Parekh Races at Western Junior Ski Championships

SGS seventh grader Lucas Parekh competed in the USSA U14 Western Region Junior Ski Racing Championships at Alpine Meadows/Squaw Valley near Lake Tahoe, California from March 16-19.  Out of 63 boys from the entire western U.S., Lucas finished 12th in Slalom, which was the top finish for anyone from the Pacific Northwest (Oregon, Washington or Northern Idaho).  He was 14th in Giant Slalom (2nd highest from the PNW region), and in Super-G he ended up 30th overall (3rd best finish from the PNW).  Lucas represented the Schweitzer Alpine Racing School at this race that was previously known as the Junior Olympics.  Squaw Valley features steeper races than any PNW mountains, but Lucas handled them very well.  Congratulations!
