5th Grade Math Is Cool Wins Regionals

The Saint George's fifth grade Math Is Cool team captured 1st Place at the regional competition at Mt. Spokane HS on March 24.  Kara Chiang placed 1st in the individual portion of the tests, Sam Morris placed 3rd, and Steel Lindauer placed 6th.  The team competed at the phi level, the second highest of four levels of schools, based on a ranking system that looks at the last seven years of scores.  Coach Sherry Shoemaker will take the top four students (Kara, Sam, Steel, and Isabelle Parekh) to the State Masters Competition in Moses Lake on May 20 to face the top teams from the entire state.  Go Dragons!
