The 5th grade spent several days in late May learning about people and events around central Montana -- The Charlie Russell Museum, Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, the Missouri River and Gates Dam, First People's State Park's Buffalo Jump, a boat ride through the Gates of the Mountains, and practicing Native American tools at Missouri Headwaters State Park.  See a Photo Gallery of the class in Montana.  Thanks to Sherry Shoemaker for the nice group photos!

The Kindergarten students raised butterflies in their classroom, decorated their own "wings" in art, and then released their butterflies on Graduation Lawn on May 16, 2018.  See a Video and a Photo Gallery of their eventful day.  How cute is that?!

The 1st graders completed their studies of the rainforest with this annual musical performance of a "Rumpus in the Rainforest" on May 16 and 17.  See a Photo Gallery of them in the Dragon's Den and watch a 20-Minute Video of all their songs in the show.

Congratulations to the 5th grade Math Is Cool team, who competed in Moses Lake at the State Masters competition this past Saturday, May 19.  Team members are Rohan Dhillon, Gabe Law, Ian Rizvi, and Ian Reichel.  "They did not place in the competition," says coach Sherry Shoemaker, "but they were in the top 'i' division, which is the hardest group to be in."  Sherry spent the day at the competition correcting math papers and working with the state organizers.  Go Dragons!

Famous artists never looked so good!  The 5th graders culminated their study of great 19th and 20th century artists with their own exhibition (in character) of paintings by each artist in the Davenport House on March 27.  "They worked so hard in art class," says LS librarian Dianne Douthitt, "with Jennifer replicating paintings and with me in the library researching artists and making scrapbooks!  I am so proud of these artists and scholars!  Well done!"  See a Photo Gallery of all the artists with their paintings at the exhibit...

The Lower School students make music with rhythm sticks, Orff instruments and their voices in Judy Hafso's music class.  Here are more photos from March 21 in the Kindergarten Music Class, the 1st Grade Music Class, the 3rd Grade Music Class, and the 4th Grade Music Class.

The After School Care kids scooped up hundreds of brightly colored eggs - some made of chocolate and others filled with jelly beans - at the annual Egg Hunt around the Lower School on March 29.  See a Photo Gallery of their adventure!
