Lower School artists have a number of works on display in the LS hallway; view them in the following photo galleries.  Some of the students created Expressionist Works to express an emotion.  Can you guess which ones they wanted to convey?  A Big Poster in the Lower School hallway invites everyone to grab a marker and draw how they feel.  And the 1st graders made Penguin Sculptures as part of their study of these friendly, flightless birds...

Chemistry teacher Pete O'Brien and his advisory group performed an original composition about good old "Spokayne" at the All-School Talent Show on April 13th.  As he sings in this YouTube Video, "We're not hip," but there are other compensations for living here!  Also see senior Susie Jones' dance to the music of "Found/Tonight".  Plus a video of "Signs of Spring" around campus features the acappella performance of "Long Time Traveler" by Hailey Poutiatine, Susie Jones and Olivia Osborne from the Talent Show.  Thanks to all of the performers!

Famous artists never looked so good!  The 5th graders culminated their study of great 19th and 20th century artists with their own exhibition (in character) of paintings by each artist in the Davenport House on March 27.  "They worked so hard in art class," says LS librarian Dianne Douthitt, "with Jennifer replicating paintings and with me in the library researching artists and making scrapbooks!  I am so proud of these artists and scholars!  Well done!"  See a Photo Gallery of all the artists with their paintings at the exhibit...

The Talent Show on Friday, April 13 was terrific!  See a Photo Gallery of the emcees Ryan and Dan and many of the performers.  Thank you to everyone who performed, as well as to Melanie Mildrew and the Community Service Club for organizing the event.  All proceeds from the show -- $380 -- will go to the Guilds' School Penny Drive... 

The Lower School students make music with rhythm sticks, Orff instruments and their voices in Judy Hafso's music class.  Here are more photos from March 21 in the Kindergarten Music Class, the 1st Grade Music Class, the 3rd Grade Music Class, and the 4th Grade Music Class.

SGS music director David Demand was a good sport when the Raging Red performance troupe from Dixie State University in St. George, Utah included him in their song "I Need a Hero" on March 27, 2018.  See the memorable YouTube Video here!

The 7th graders practiced shading techniques and careful observation in making drawings from photographs.  See a Photo Gallery of their images, which are on display in the Middle School's entry hallway...
