The Lower School Basketball Night & Chili Feed and Potato Bar is this Friday, Jan. 5, from 4:30-6pm in the Dragon's Den before the SGS games vs Colfax. A LS parent Evite for the dinner was sent out before the Winter Break, please RSVP. Come enjoy something warm and delicious before cheering on the Dragon Girls' Varsity Team at 6pm and the Boys' Varsity Team at 7:30pm. The Little Dragon Cheerleaders will perform at both half times. The dinner is complimentary and admission to the basketball games is $6 for adults, $4 for non-SGS students, and free for SGS students and children under 5. This should be a fun-filled night for Lower School families...

The Dec. 6 Spokesman featured an article on Heidi Melville and Mark Rickard talking about their runner-up State Champion soccer teams. “One of our core values,” Melville said, “is ‘best effort’ in (every) area of life. Dragon athletes in volleyball, cross country, and soccer have received All-League honors from the NE 2B League. Congratulations to Mia Smith and Claire Henning who were the top middle hitters in volleyball. Boys' cross country honors went to Hunter Johnson, Kai Jacobs, Alex Watkins, and Nick Watkins. Jora Gleason, Mary Neder, and Audrey Harrill earned girls' cross country honors. And midfielders Lydia Bergquist, Cambrie Rickard, Maddy Christiansen, and Mary Neder received girls' soccer honors, with Grace Harrill earning an honorable mention. (Boys' soccer honors will be announced later.) Special kudos to senior Mary Neder, who was All-League in both cross country and girls soccer!
The Dragons returned both boys and girls soccer teams to the State 2B Finals in mid-November, with both teams winning their Semifinal matches and losing the Championship games.
